Learn the best ways to farm gold and valuables in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Discover efficient methods for destroying destructible objects and unlocking Minrathous for maximum profit.

Hey there! So, you're looking to get rich quick in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, huh? Smart move! Gold and faction-boosting valuables can really help you out, especially if you want to snag some sweet gear early or max out your standing with a faction before a big choice. Luckily, there's a pretty solid way to do it, and it mostly involves a bit of smashing and a lot of fast-traveling. Let's dive into how you can become Dragon Age's next big spender!

The Core Idea: Smashing and Respawning

The main way to farm is by destroying objects scattered all over the game world. Think barrels, crates, urns, pots, even some plants. While smashing a single item might only net you a few gold coins, some common valuables (good for faction strength!), or crafting materials like Heartwood (from wood) or Flawless Crystals (from ceramics/glass), the real magic happens when you find areas packed with these items. Destroying a ton of them in a short time can rack up thousands of gold per hour. The best part? These items respawn! They usually pop back up when you get close to the area again, or you can force a respawn by fast-traveling away and then back to a nearby beacon. It’s all about finding a dense spot and creating a little farming loop.

Step 1: Unlock Minrathous First!

Before you can really get into the good farming spots, you absolutely need to unlock the city of Minrathous. To do this, you'll need to push through the main story quests and complete [The Smuggled Relic Case] and [Shadows of Minrathous]. Once those are done, you can head back to Minrathous anytime. You'll spawn in the Shadow Dragon Safehouse on the west side of the city. Your target area for farming is the Central Market, way over on the east side, past the Chantry. Make sure you find and activate the Central Market Beacon – it’s going to be your best friend for this grind.

Step 2: The Warehouse Grind in Minrathous

Once you're set up in Minrathous, head west from the Central Market Beacon. You're looking for a specific warehouse; it looks like a blocky number '2' on your map. This place is packed with shelves full of urns and other destructible items. Go in there, smash everything you can as quickly as possible. After you've cleared it out, immediately fast-travel to a different beacon. The Urthemiel Venue Beacon, located to the west, is a good choice. Then, fast-travel right back to the Central Market Beacon. When you return, the warehouse will be restocked, ready for you to smash it all over again!

What You'll Get and Why It's Worth It

Each run through this warehouse will net you gold, those valuable Flawless Crystals, and other assorted valuables. Most of these valuables are common, so expect around 10-20 gold each, plus 3 Faction Strength points. It might not sound like much per item, but it adds up incredibly fast. The Flawless Crystals are particularly useful because you can sell them to a merchant located southeast of the warehouse for a solid 60 gold per 10 crystals. This method, while a bit repetitive, is a super-efficient way to get thousands of gold and hundreds of faction points relatively quickly.

A Word of Warning: The Point of No Return

Listen up, this is important! After you complete the main quests [Sea of Blood] and either [The Smuggled Relic Case] or [Shadows of Minrathous], you'll hit a point where you have to choose between helping Treviso or Minrathous. This kicks off the next main quest, either [On Deadly Wings] or [On Blighted Wings]. There's no break between these, and whichever city you neglect will suffer major consequences. One of the biggest is losing access to either the Antivan Crows faction merchant or the Shadow Dragons faction merchant for the rest of the game. Because of this, it's highly recommended to do your gold and valuable grinding before you reach this point. You'll want to max out the Faction Strength of the faction you plan to ignore so you can buy all their best wares before they're gone forever. Don't worry too much about the Flawless Crystal merchant in Minrathous if you miss them; you can still find other merchants who buy them, but losing faction-specific vendors is a big deal!
