Trails & Shards

Learn all about Geometry Dash's Trails & Shards, collecting Fire, Ice, Poison, Lava, and other Shards of Power to unlock icons and achievements.

Shards, also known as Shards of Power, are collectible items introduced in Update 2.1 that contribute to unlocking icons and achievements. They are available in Geometry Dash, Geometry Dash Lite, and Geometry Dash World, with ten distinct types split into two tiers.

Shards are viewed and managed through the Shards of Power menu within the Icon Kit. Each shard type contributes individually to unlocking icons and achievements. Bonus unlocks are available for each tier, requiring a certain number of every shard type within that tier. The two tiers of shards are:

• Tier 1 (Update 2.1): Fire, Ice, Poison, Shadow, Lava
• Tier 2 (Update 2.2): Earth, Blood, Metal, Light, Soul

Stars are another collectible, introduced in Update 1.3, and are present in all Geometry Dash games. They are earned by completing levels in normal mode (excluding unrated user levels) and map packs. Stars contribute to unlocking icons, achievements, and leaderboard placement. A total of 2,838 stars can be earned from official content:

• Main Levels: 199 stars (up to 15 per level)
  • Geometry Dash Lite: 160 stars
  • Geometry Dash Meltdown: 6 stars
  • Geometry Dash World: 28 stars
  • Geometry Dash SubZero: 18 stars
• Map Packs: 1,818 stars (1,365 level stars, 453 pack stars; up to 10 per level/pack)
• Gauntlets: 818 stars
