Detailed walkthrough for Part 59 of Unreal Tournament, focusing on CTF-Coret. Learn attack and defense strategies, weapon tips, and advanced maneuvers for capturing the flag.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Attack - Initial Push: Grab thigh pads in the Neutral Zone (NZ). Attack through the left, upper route into the enemy base. This path leads past vials and armor; always take enemy armor. This route avoids a potentially dangerous door.
  2. 2
Attack - Flag Capture: After grabbing the flag, wait briefly for enemy bots to arrive. Use the jump pad to exit, channeling enemies behind you for rocket attacks. Proceed through the lower route tunnel (not the main NZ) towards the UDamage. This path offers three health packs. Continue along the high corridor to reach your capture point. This route maximizes health and armor while maintaining cover.
  3. 3
Defense - General: Flag camping is effective on this map due to the large defensive area and two NZ exits. Enemies will approach from around the mountain or translocate from the cliff. Be aware of hammer-jumps back across the gap. If a flag carrier (FC) hammer-jumps, they likely have low health. An FC with thigh pads and 73 health can be defeated with one rocket.
  4. 4
Defense - Weaponry: The shock rifle is ideal, but its single ammo pack in the NZ limits camping. Consider returning to spawn for ammo or relying on dropped weapons. Rocket launchers are effective for defending the red base, especially for bouncing enemies into the lava. Use target lock when an enemy FC retreats. Hurl rockets at your own flag to deter attackers. The bio rifle's secondary fire is useful for defending tunnels.
  5. 5
Defense - Positioning: Avoid defending in the NZ due to its constricted nature and popularity. Regularly check for the enemy flag carrier's belt, as it's crucial for successful captures.
Tips
  • Offensive Maneuvers: Perform a hammer-jump off the inner wall of the tunnel leading to the blue base (right wall, back to blue flag) to land near the flag. A backwards hammer-jump off the left wall of the high tunnel before exiting into the red cave can also land you on the flag.
  • Stylish Captures: Run up the side of the red mountain with the blue flag, use two backwards hammer-jumps to reach the top, and fall onto the red flag. You might die as you score.
  • Map Details: A HOM (Hall of Mirrors) can be found in the ceiling of the red cave, near hanging plants.
  • Weapon Choice: The shock rifle is excellent for instant hits, crucial when opponents aren't deterred by rockets or rippers. Rockets and shock balls are effective in the high tunnel escape route due to limited enemy movement space.
  • Health & Armor: Always take enemy armor, even if you have full health/armor. The map provides ample health packs along the lower tunnel route.
  • Powerups: UDamage is located in the upper room in the middle of the neutral zone. Body Armor is behind the partition at the end of the upper corridor in each base. Thigh Pads (2) are in opposite lower corners of the NZ.
  • Map Lore: CTF-Coret is built into a mountaintop on the Coret moon, a former waypoint between an interstellar zonegate and the Zeto Research Station.
