Alright, so you've heard about Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint, and you're ready to take him on in Diablo IV? Awesome! He's one of those optional bosses that really test your build. To even get a shot at him, you're going to need a special resource called Living Steel. It's not exactly lying around, so let's break down how you get it and how to use it to summon him.

How to Summon Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint in Diablo 4

First things first, you need Living Steel. This fancy material only drops during Helltide events. These events pop up randomly in certain regions, last for about an hour, and then disappear, only to reappear later somewhere else. You'll need to be at least on World Tier III to even see Helltides. Keep an eye on your map; affected areas will be highlighted in red. Enemies in these zones are tougher, but they drop Aberrant Cinders, which is what you'll use to get the Living Steel.

Your main target during a Helltide is the Tortured Gift of Living Steel chest. These chests aren't marked on your map like other Helltide chests, so you'll need to keep an eye out. The best way to spot one is to look for a massive demon called He-Grins-Wide-And-Waits guarding it, usually surrounded by a red barrier. If you get close, the chest icon *will* appear on your minimap, which is super helpful if someone else has already dealt with the demon. You'll need to spend 300 Aberrant Cinders to open this chest. After you defeat He-Grins-Wide-And-Waits, you can loot the chest. Depending on your World Tier, you'll get either 1-2 Living Steel (WT3) or 3 Living Steel (WT4).

Important Note: You'll need 2 Living Steel to summon Grigoire on World Tier 3, and 5 Living Steel for World Tier 4. So, you'll likely need to open several of these chests.

Once you've gathered enough Living Steel, it's time to head to the Hall of the Penitent. You can fast travel there; it's located on the eastern edge of the Dindai Flats area in the Dry Steppes. Once inside, fight your way through the enemies until you find the Light-Touched Altar. Interact with it, select the Living Steel from your inventory, and Grigoire will make his grand, shocking entrance!

How to Farm Living Steel

Farming Living Steel is all about Helltides. When a Helltide is active, the enemies become more dangerous, but they drop Aberrant Cinders much more frequently. You'll also find corrupted flora and ore, and it's generally a more chaotic, rewarding experience.

The key is the Tortured Gift of Living Steel chest. Remember, you need 300 Aberrant Cinders for it, and it doesn't show up on the main map. If you're struggling to survive Helltides, it might be worth getting stronger first, because dying in a Helltide makes you drop half your Aberrant Cinders – and collecting 300 again is a pain!

These chests are guarded by He-Grins-Wide-And-Waits. While you're gathering Cinders, keep an eye out for him and the chest. The chest itself will shoot fireballs if you linger too close, so be ready to fight. Once you defeat He-Grins-Wide-And-Waits (he's big but not *that* tough, mostly swinging a mace and summoning adds), you can finally open the chest. You'll get some elixirs, crafting materials, and hopefully, that precious Living Steel.

Don't worry too much about which World Tier you're in when farming; Living Steel is the same regardless of whether you're in World Tier 3 or 4. It'll work for summoning Grigoire in either.
