Champion Chapter Season Journey Guide for Diablo 4 Season 1

Complete the Diablo IV Champion Chapter Season Journey with our guide. Learn which objectives to prioritize, rewards, and strategies for Season 1.

Players will once again need to fight a World boss if they want to tick off an objective in the Champion Chapter of the Season Journey.

Objectives:

1. Lilith’s Undoing: Purify Seeds of Hatred in Hostile Areas.
2. Threshold of Damnation: Complete the Fallen Temple.
3. Wrath’s Vengeance: Defeat the Nightmare Echo of Varshan.
4. Ancestral Artisan: Upgrade 3 items 5 times at the Blacksmith or Jeweler.
5. Reaching For Greatness: Improve a Paragon Glyph to Rank 20.
6. The Gathering Fires: Acquire 1000 Aberrant Cinders in World Tier 3.
7. Crown to Foot: Imprint 10 Aspects at the Occultist.
8. No Mere Mortal: Unlock a Legendary Paragon Node.
9. Tempered By Hellfire: Reach Level 75.
10. Pilgrimage of Nightmares: Complete a Tier 15 Nightmare Dungeon.
11. A Fiend Brought Low: Defeat a World Boss in World Tier 3.

To complete this chapter, you will need to complete nine of the 11 objectives. The objectives Lilith’s Undoing (PvP) and Reaching For Greatness (Paragon Glyph Rank 20) are not recommended due to their time investment or late-game nature. Most other objectives come naturally through gameplay.

• Epic Favor: Very large quantity of Battle Pass XP progression.
• Sixth Journey Cache: Late game resources for crafting, Nightmare Sigils, and jewelry.
• Aspect of Audacity: A new Legendary Aspect.

The objectives Crown to Foot (imprinting aspects) and The Gathering Fire (Aberrant Cinders) are often completed naturally through endgame activities like Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides. Similarly, upgrading items at the Blacksmith and defeating World Bosses are common activities.

To complete the Wrath’s Vengeance objective, you will need to defeat the World Tier 3 version of Varshan. This requires defeating him on World Tier 2 first in a Malignant Tunnel, then crafting the Foul Invoker and challenging him again. The Varshan boss room can be found in the Boiling Wound area of Fractured Peaks.

The Pilgrimage of Nightmares objective requires completing a Tier 15 Nightmare Dungeon. These are noted as being easier in Season 1, with Tier 15 being achievable for players in their mid-50s with decent gear and aspects.

The Threshold of Damnation objective involves completing the Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon, which is harder than the Cathedral of Light and features a fight against Echo of Elias. Players in their early 60s can attempt this with boss-killing builds, while others may prefer to wait until their mid to late 60s.

The Tempered By Hellfire objective requires reaching Level 75. This is naturally achieved when progressing to World Tier 4 and engaging in its content. After completing the Fallen Temple, farming World Tier 4 activities like Malignant Tunnels and Helltides will accelerate XP gain.
