Once you reach level 50 in diablo iv, you will stop gaining Skill Points and begin accumulating Paragon Points. To access your Paragon Points, open your inventory and go to the “Abilities” tab, then select the “Paragon” tab. Here you will find the Paragon Board, a grid of Paragon Nodes with varying rarities: common, magical, rare, and legendary. Rare nodes typically offer more or better bonuses. Each node costs one Paragon Point to unlock, and its benefits are permanent unless refunded. Refunding a node costs gold and returns the Paragon Point, with the refund cost increasing as you level up.

Paragon Nodes must be unlocked sequentially, adjacent to already purchased nodes. Refunding also requires sequential removal of nodes.

Most Paragon Nodes provide straightforward stat bonuses. However, rare nodes may have a bonus that activates only when a specific stat threshold is met. For example, the Sorcerer’s base Paragon Board has the “Elemental Balance” rare node, granting +10% Non-Physical damage and +10 Intelligence. If your total Dexterity reaches 170 or higher, you gain an additional +10% Non-Physical Damage. Stat thresholds can be met through gear, Altars of Lilith bonuses, or other Paragon Node bonuses, but can be lost if gear is changed.

As you level past 50, you will earn a significant number of Paragon Points. The strategy is to target points of interest on the Paragon Board, such as rare nodes, legendary nodes, Paragon Glyphs, and Board Attachment Gates, while prioritizing stat boosts relevant to your build or those that progress towards other bonuses.
