Follow our step-by-step guide to complete the 'Murder in the Temple' quest in Assassin's Creed Origins, including finding clues and assassinating targets.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
First things first, fast travel to Karanis. Once you arrive, make your way northwest towards the murder scene. You'll find a man named Epigonos standing near the body. Chat with him; he'll tell you Wadjet cultists are the culprits. Oddly enough, Bayek will offer to help the Phylakitai figure out what happened.
  2. 2
Head into the temple, and Epigonos will tag along, filling you in on the murders. Once inside, go to the statue at the northwestern end of the temple. Use your Animus Pulse to highlight important objects around the crime scene. You'll need to examine a chair and the base of the statue.
  3. 3
After that, climb the statue and search its right shoulder. Then, head southwest to the balcony. You'll find a note on a bloody bed. It looks like these murders were motivated by race and religion, and for once, the Greeks are on the receiving end.
  4. 4
Before heading back down to Epigonos, take a quick detour. Southeast of the bloody bed, behind a screen on a table, you'll find the Papyrus Puzzle Scroll called "The Leaning Tower." You'll solve the puzzle later, but it's good to grab it now.
  5. 5
Head back down to the temple floor and talk to Epigonos. He's pretty worried about the potential assassination of the high priest. Apparently, this guy is the linchpin of Karanis, and Epigonos will be in deep trouble if he's killed on his watch.
  6. 6
Follow Epigonos outside and climb the wall to reach one of the marked spots. From here, you'll get a vantage point to see the assassination attempt unfolding.
  7. 7
Epigonos loses his nerve, so it's up to you to drop down to the villa below and take out the bandits.
  8. 8
Once the bandits are dealt with, the high priest and Epigonos will speak with you, wrapping up this quest. Even though this simple quest is done, keep an eye out because the quest "Feeding Faiyum" will become available right after.
