Dead in the Water

Navigate the Apollonia Roman Barracks and defeat the Roman Navarch in Assassin's Creed Origins. This guide covers freeing Titus and sinking the fleet.

Alright, let's tackle the 'Dead in the Water' quest in Assassin's Creed Origins. First up, we need to head to the Apollonia Roman Barracks, which is located on the northeastern docks of Cyrene. It's a pretty small fort, so it shouldn't give you too much trouble, but keep an eye out for convoys on the road south and any triremes that might dock nearby – they can bring in extra soldiers.

Your main goal here is to take out the soldiers and their captain, who's level 39. Once the fort is clear, look for a building just east of the southern gate. Inside, you'll find a red chest with some goodies. After that, head to the southeastern part of the area, near the alarm brazier. Inside another building, you'll find Titus locked in a cage. Free him, and then escort him safely away from the barracks.

Once Titus is safe, he'll tell you about the Roman Navarch and suggest you take him out to mess with the Roman fleet. So, hop into a boat and sail towards the quest marker. When you're close enough, use Senu (your eagle) to spot the Navarch's ship. Sail up to it, board the ship, and start taking down the crew, including the Navarch himself. These guys are a bit lower level than the ones in the barracks. A neat trick is to cling to the side of the ship and whistle them over, or you can just go in swords blazing. Once the Navarch is down, the quest will wrap up.
