The Ostrich

If you've just finished up with the “Smoke Over Water” quest, you'll find yourself at a farm south of Sais. There's a side quest here that feels a little out of place, but it's a nice change of pace from the main storyline and it's conveniently located. Head to the small building on the north side of the farm. You'll find a woman outside, upset about her brother hiding inside, too scared of Sefetu's men to come out. Apparently, peasants are living in fear of this heavy-handed tax collector – some things never change, right? Bayek, being the helpful guy he is, offers to deal with the tax collector.

Your first objective is to head southwest towards the general search area. Once you're close, deploy Senu, your eagle companion, to pinpoint the tax collector's exact location. Turns out, he's holed up in Camp Shemu, a small fort situated on the southern edge of Lake Mareotis.

Camp Shemu is a fairly standard outpost. Expect to find a level 17 captain and a bunch of lower-level soldiers (levels 15-16). Besides taking down the captain, you'll also need to find and loot a treasure chest within the camp to satisfy the location objective.

The camp is pretty small, meaning the enemies are packed in. But don't worry, you've got a few tricks up your sleeve. Near the main gate, you'll find some bushes. Use these to your advantage by luring any nearby guards away from their posts for an easy takedown.

Once you've dealt with the guards near the gate, make your way around the western side of the fort. You'll spot a tower by the lake – climb it and perform a ledge takedown on any guards stationed up there. After that, make sure to sabotage the alarm brazier to prevent reinforcements from being called.

From the tower, you can drop down onto a platform that holds two ballistae. These are perfect for picking off more soldiers from a distance, and maybe even the tax collector himself! It's always satisfying to take down a target from afar.

Once the tax collector is dead, the “The Ostrich” quest will be marked as complete. To wrap things up, you'll need to eliminate any remaining guards in the fort. Then, head into the tent located in the center of the camp. Inside, you'll find the red chest you need to loot to fulfill the location objective.
