Guide Bayek to defeat the Quartermaster and his guards, loot the Requisition List, and then track down the Praefectus Equites to reclaim Hermes in Assassin's Creed Origins.

Alright, let's get this done. First up, you need to find and take out the Quartermaster and his guards. Once they're down, loot the Quartermaster's body. You'll find a note called the Requisition List. This note tells you that Hermes, a horse, has been taken to the Chersonesos Roman Fort by a guy named Praefectus Equites. That fort is a huge place on the coast to the northeast.

Before you head straight for the fort, there's a barn nearby to the northeast that's being guarded by some Roman soldiers. Take them out, then head inside the barn. You'll find a freshly dug-up red chest there. Loot it to wrap up this part of the area.

Reward: For completing the Archile Pandocheion
450 XP

Now, make your way northeast towards the Chersonesos Roman Fort. It's built on a hill right by the coast, so you can't miss its massive size, complete with palisades and watch towers.

The good news is you don't need to storm the whole fort to get Hermes back. The Praefectus Equites will actually ride him out on patrol. The not-so-good news is that there's another quest in that fort that will eventually require you to clear out the Roman garrison. If you're patient, the best strategy is to ambush the Praefectus Equites out on the roads. If you're lucky, he won't have a big escort, but keep in mind that convoys could show up and complicate things.

Your goal is to defeat him when he's far enough away from the fort so that he doesn't call for reinforcements. Once he's down, mount Hermes and ride him back to his owner to finish the quest. You'll get to experience the speed of those Cyrenian horses firsthand!
