Follow our guide to complete 'The Accidental Philosopher' quest in Assassin's Creed Origins. Help Bayek find Tefibi and protect him from soldiers.
This quest starts in Alexandria. You'll need to be around level 20 to tackle it. Fast travel to Alexandria and make your way to the southern docks. Look for a woman named Tjepu; she's worried about her son, Tefibi, who's wandered off. Chat with her, accept the quest, and get ready to track him down.
Walkthrough
- 1Head southwest from Tjepu, following the coastline until you reach the quest marker.
- 2Once you arrive, Bayek will prompt an investigation. Turn east and use your Animus Pulse. You'll notice some suspiciously bloody water.
- 3First, continue south along the shore and investigate some discarded clothing.
- 4Next, swim east and check out the bloody water you spotted earlier.
- 5After that, swim south towards some rocks. Keep an eye out for crocodiles (they're level 21) in the water around you. Feel free to take them out if they become a nuisance.
- 6Examine some more blood on a nearby rock.
- 7Follow the blood trail south, then southwest. It will lead you to a small hut.
- 8Prepare yourself and break down the door. Inside, you'll find Tefibi, who's surprisingly okay despite all the blood outside.
- 9Bayek will convince Tefibi to return home with him. Now, your job is to escort and protect him.
- 10Soon after, four soldiers (level 20) will show up, accusing Tefibi of theft. You'll need to fight them off to ensure his safety.
- 11Once the soldiers are dealt with, talk to Tefibi to complete the quest.
Tips
- The crocodiles near the rocks are level 21, so be prepared for a fight if they aggro.
- The soldiers who appear later are level 20, so make sure Bayek is ready for combat.
- 1,500 XP
