First Blood: Chapter 7 The Crocodile

Guide to completing the 'First Blood' quest in Assassin's Creed Origins, including finding The Heron's tomb and uncovering Rudjek's secrets.

Alright, so you're looking to tackle the 'First Blood' quest in Assassin's Creed Origins? This one's a bit off the beaten path, taking you to the Bent Pyramid of Sneferu, west of Memphis. If you're coming from the Temple of Hathor, just head west into the hills, and you'll find it. We need to get inside the pyramid, so make your way to the northern side and look for an entrance.

Once you're in, head south through a doorway. It'll get dark pretty quick, so light up your torch! Keep an eye out for some cobras up ahead in the next room. Don't get too close – just toss your torch at them to scare them off or pick them off from a distance. After that, head into the room they were in and climb the south wall. You'll find a hole you can crawl through. Keep going, climb the south wall again when you hit another dead end, and crawl through another opening. Follow the path uphill until you hit a reed barrier. Smash through it, but you'll find large metal bars blocking the main way forward.

We can't go through there, but there's a way to get inside. Look through the opening you just made and shoot the urn on the other side of those bars. This clears the path. Now, head back outside the pyramid and circle around to the western side. You'll find another entrance higher up. Climb up there and head inside.

Move forward until you see an object you can move. Since you destroyed that urn earlier, you can now push this object back. Once it's out of the way, go around it and enter the chamber. To your south, you'll find a big red chest – that's the treasure you need for the area's objectives. Loot it! Then, turn north and you'll see an altar with an ankh on it. Examine it to officially start the quest, "First Blood.".

So, it turns out this temple is where Bayek took down The Heron, the very first member of the Order of Ancients he went after. It's interesting that someone else has been here since then, and we should definitely check it out.

Head east and check out an arrow pointing towards a breakable wall. Smash through it and go on through. In the southwestern corner of this room, smash some pots. You'll find another sneaky cobra in there, but more importantly, Rudjek's mask. This is a key piece of evidence related to his murder weapon. Now, turn west and you'll see a sarcophagus. Inside, you'll find some mummified herons and proof that Rudjek was buried with more honor than he deserved. It's clear someone cared a lot about The Heron to give him a proper burial and pay their respects. Bayek will then have a flashback, replaying the scene and justifying his actions, which wraps up this quest.
