Follow our guide to complete the 'The Scarab's Sting' main quest in Assassin's Creed Origins. Find Harkhuf, rescue Ghupa from Camp Pyrrhos, and uncover leads on The Scarab.
Walkthrough
- 1Find Harkhuf: Travel to Sais, located on the northern edge of Sapi-Res Nome, east of Lake Mareotis. If you've completed sidequests like "Fair Trade," you might be nearby. Otherwise, fast travel to Sau Village and head east, then northwest/west, crossing a river to reach Sais. Look for Harkhuf, a brewer, near large jars during the day, or at his home to the west at night.
- 2Speak with Harkhuf: Talk to Harkhuf. He will eventually invite you to his home. Inside, he reveals a hidden room.
- 3Gather Information: In the hidden room, find and take the letter "Story of the Scarab." Ignore the Informant Table for now. Return to Harkhuf and speak with him again.
- 4Locate Ghupa: Harkhuf mentions individuals tortured by The Scarab. Question a child named Kawab about his grandfather, Ghupa, who is overdue from Camp Pyrrhos.
- 5Assault Camp Pyrrhos: Travel to Camp Pyrrhos. Use Senu to scout guards (levels 15-16). The captain is level 17. Utilize the foliage near the gates to lure and eliminate guards using whistles.
- 6Loot Camp Pyrrhos: After clearing the camp, find and loot the treasure located inside one of the tents.
- 7Rescue Ghupa: Locate Ghupa in his cage within the camp, open it, and pick him up.
- 8Return Ghupa: Place Ghupa on your mount and ride him to his family's home in Sais, north of the city center.
- 9Receive Intel: Ghupa and his wife, Maharet, will provide information pointing towards The Scarab operating out of Letopolis, a city to the south facing sandstorms. This concludes "The Scarab's Sting" and begins "The Scarab's Lies."
Tips
- The Informant's Table in Harkhuf's house offers side quests (levels 15-16) that can provide experience if you need to level up before starting "The Scarab's Lies" (suggested level 18).
- Camp Pyrrhos has a watchtower offering high ground, but guards are often posted in pairs, making stealth detection likely if not careful.
- The foliage near the camp gates is excellent for luring guards away for silent takedowns.
- For completing Camp Pyrrhos: 300 XP
- For completing the quest "The Scarab's Sting": 1,500 XP
