Learn how to plant fruit trees and saplings in animal crossing new horizons. Sell non-native fruit for 500 bells each.

There are six different types of fruit in animal crossing new horizons: apples, pears, peaches, coconuts, oranges, and cherries. You should aim to collect each fruit type, as non-native fruits can be sold for 500 bells apiece. Planting non-native fruit trees will also earn you Nook Miles. The most effective method for acquiring new fruit types is to trade with other players. While mystery islands may offer some different fruits, they do not guarantee all types.

  • Shovel (for planting fruit)
  • Fruit or Hardwood/Cedar Saplings
Walkthrough
  1. 1
Planting Fruit Trees: First, acquire pieces of fruit to use as seeds. Dig a hole with a shovel. Open your inventory and select the fruit to plant it. The tree will take 3 days to fully mature.
  2. 2
Planting Saplings: You can plant hardwood and cedar saplings purchased from Nook’s Cranny. You do not need to dig a hole first, but digging a hole before planting gives you more control over the sapling's placement. Like fruit trees, saplings will take a few days to mature.
