Learn how to change your hairstyle, hair color, and create custom clothing in Animal Crossing: New Horizons using the Nookstop and Custom Design Pro Editor.

It’s day five in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and you've likely earned a good amount of Nook Miles. Head to the Nookstop in Resident Services to change your appearance!

New Hairstyles

Your initial hairstyle options are limited. At the Nookstop, you can buy new hairstyles and colors. Purchase the Top 8 Pop Hairstyles or Top 8 Cool Hairstyles packs, and the Top 8 Stylish Hair Colors pack for a few thousand Nook Miles each. To apply these changes, use a mirror or vanity. You should have a DIY recipe for a wooden mirror; craft one if you haven't already. After purchasing a pack, you'll have 8 new hairstyles, and with the colors pack, new colors to choose from.

Creating Custom Clothing

After updating your hair, you can design custom clothing. Buy the Custom Design Pro Editor app at the Nookstop for 800 Nook Miles. This app allows you to design dresses, hats, jumpers, and tank tops. Designing clothes is more complex than the standard custom design tool, as each part of an item (e.g., front, back, sleeves of a dress) can have its own design. Switch between clothing parts by pressing the R analog stick. Rotate the dressform using the R analog stick to better view your design.

Access tools by pressing X:

• Pen Tool: Draw freestyle. Press Y to cycle through three pen thicknesses. Use the R Bumper to switch between colors at the top.
• Line Tool: Create straight lines. Press A to set the start point, use the L analog stick to adjust length and position, then press A again to confirm.
• Rectangle and Circle Tools: Create shapes. Set an origin point and use the L analog stick to resize.
• Fill Tool and Fill All Tool: Fill areas with color. The Fill Tool can fill specific areas or the inside of shapes. The Fill All Tool resets the entire design with a single color.
• Stamp Tools: Use circle, star, and heart stamps. Press Y to change stamp sizes.
• Drag Design Tool: Move your entire design on the canvas.
• Swap/Copy Tool: Copy designs to other parts of the clothing item or swap them. Press Y to select swap or copy.
• Mirror Mode: Create symmetrical designs.

Once saved, wear your custom design by selecting it in the pro design app.
