So, you’ve had your first visitor at the campsite! That’s awesome! Now, Tom Nook and Isabelle are going to start keeping tabs on your island’s appeal with regular evaluations. Think of it as your island getting its own report card!

Here’s the lowdown:

When you next pop into Resident Services, Tom Nook will chat with you about the next big step for Project K. Head over to his counter and choose the “What should I do?” option. He’ll explain that the key to progressing is boosting your island’s appeal. This means inviting more villagers to live with you and sprucing up your island’s scenery. Isabelle is going to be your go-to for all the details on your island’s appeal ratings, so make sure you chat with her too!

How the Ratings Work:

Basically, your island’s rating is a mix of how many residents you have and how much stuff you’ve decorated with. To get the best ratings, you’ll want decorations spread out all over your island. We’re talking flowers, fences, and furniture – the more, the merrier! Plus, having lots of built-up infrastructure, like bridges and inclines, really makes your island look more appealing to visitors. On the flip side, weeds, trash, and just random stuff lying around will actually hurt your rating, so keep things tidy!

The K Project Goal:

The big goal here is to get K.K. Slider to visit your island, and for that, you need a 3-star island rating. Right now, your island is probably sitting at 1-star, mostly because you don’t have many residents yet, even if you’ve gone wild with decorations. Your island’s popularity is all about how lively it feels, so if you have empty plots of land, focus on filling those up over the next few days. Remember, you can only ask one new villager to move in per day. With the new villager who just moved in from the campsite, you should have 6 villagers total. If you invited someone from a mystery island yesterday and another one today, you’ll have the minimum required 8 villagers in just two days!

What to do next:

Over the next few days, really focus on decorating your island. That way, as soon as you hit 8 villagers, you can immediately trigger that K.K. concert. Getting K.K. to perform is super important because it unlocks a lot of late-game content, so try to get this done as soon as you can!
