Learn how to relocate buildings like homes, shops, and the museum in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Discover costs and daily limits with this quick guide.
So, you've decided your island layout needs a little… redecorating? Don't worry, it happens to the best of us! In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you have the freedom to move almost any building around your island. The only exceptions are Resident Services and the airport – those are permanent fixtures. But that means you can totally shuffle around villagers' homes, the campsite, all the shops, and even the museum!
Ready to start planning your island's new look? Here’s how to get the ball rolling:
- Head over to Tom Nook at his construction counter.
- Select the option Let’s talk about infrastructure.
- Then, choose the option to discuss layout changes.
Now, here’s the important part: relocating a building isn't free. It'll cost you 50,000 Bells each time. Once you've handed over the Bells, Nook will give you a relocation kit. You can then pick a brand new spot for the building, just like when you first placed shops or homes. The building will magically appear in its new location the very next day.
Keep in mind, you can move island buildings as many times as you want, but remember that each move costs 50,000 Bells. Also, you're limited to moving just one building per day.
What about your own house?
Moving your own home works a little differently. When you chat with Nook at the construction counter, select the option About my home…. It’s a bit cheaper to move your house, costing only 30,000 Bells, compared to moving other buildings.
