Unlocking Nook's Cranny

After your house is upgraded, visit Resident Services. Timmy and Tom Nook will discuss building a shop.

Speak to Timmy, who will ask for your help.

Gather 30 pieces of each type of wood (Softwood, Wood, Hardwood) and 30 Iron Nuggets.

Craft several axes before chopping trees to save time. Remember that axes are made with 5 Tree Branches and 1 Rock. Be cautious of wasps.

Once you have the wood, drop the bundles near Resident Services.

To collect Iron Nuggets, use a flimsy axe or a shovel to hit rocks. You can get up to eight materials (iron, clay, rock pieces, or rare gold nuggets) from each rock per day.

You can mine rocks once per day. Each rock can yield materials up to eight times.

Be aware that hitting a rock recoils you, so you'll need to reposition yourself after each hit.

There are six rocks on your island. One of them may contain Bell bags instead of materials, yielding up to 16,000 Bells.

You may not be able to reach all rocks until you have the Ladder tool, which is obtained on day three or later.

If you don't have enough Iron Nuggets after mining all rocks, you can either wait until the next day or use a Nook Miles ticket to visit a mystery island.

Before island hopping, empty your pockets to maximize space for materials and craft a fresh set of tools. Bring extra materials to craft more tools if needed.

Head to the Airport and use a Nook Miles ticket (gifted by Orville after your first home upgrade) to fly to a mystery island.

On the mystery island, gather any remaining Iron Nuggets. You can also collect other materials, dig up fossils, shake trees for furniture, find DIY recipes on the beach, and collect non-native fruit for profit.

Return to Timmy in Resident Services with the required materials to complete the Nook's Cranny construction.
