The Colossus is a naval aircraft carrier unit in Total Annihilation. It has the important function of providing radar (a system that detects enemy units on the minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen)) and can repair two aircraft simultaneously. To help offset the energy drain from repairing damaged craft, it includes a small fusion reactor. While the Colossus does not possess any true defensive armaments, it can launch aircraft to engage the enemy, making it a very useful tool on the battlefield.

The ARM Aircraft Carrier is particularly vital on water maps. Its ability to repair aircraft means they do not need to return to base for repairs, which is its main function. It also provides energy and has a large radar range for its planes. To protect it, assign some stealth fighters, torpedo bombers, and a construction ship (a unit that can build and repair) to guard it. Keep the ARM Aircraft Carrier away from the shoreline and direct battles.
