Guide to conquering Barathrum in Total Annihilation. Learn strategies for capturing the moho mine, destroying enemy production, and establishing defenses.
Walkthrough
- 1When you start, build metal extractors and solar collectors as your Commander makes his way down the pathway in the lava. D-gun the laser tower that will attack him.
- 2Once out of the lava, have your Commander build a light laser tower and then an aircraft plant.
- 3Send units to capture the moho mine located in the upper right-hand corner. Be cautious of what you destroy in this area.
- 4Wait until you have a squad of about 7 Brawlers. Raid the upper right-hand corner and destroy everything except the moho mine.
- 5Head directly south into the lower right-hand corner. This area contains most of the computer's metal extractors. Destroying these will significantly halt the computer's production.
- 6Prioritize targeting Gaat guns, Pulverizers, and Crusher Kbots in the lower right-hand corner, though your Brawlers should handle them easily.
- 7Claim the upper left-hand side of the map. Establish four small packets of defensive structures to cover all land paths into this section.
- 8Use Defenders backed up by at least 1 Sentinel laser in each defensive packet to counter rushes of fast units.
- 9Set up patrol paths for multiple scout planes to allow Defenders to fire at their extended range.
- 10Place a construction plane on patrol in each of the four defensive areas to reduce the chance of losing a structure.
- 11Any air assaults from the computer will be dealt with by the Defenders.
- 12When possible, upgrade some of your metal extractors to moho mines.
- 13Build a vast array of solar collectors in the upper left-hand corner for power. Avoid building a geothermal powerplant outside your fortified area.
Tips
- Defenders are a good choice for static defense, but always back them up with Sentinels.
- Patrolling scout planes help Defenders engage at their maximum range.
- Construction planes on patrol prevent easy destruction of defensive structures.
- Solar collectors are an efficient power source in the upper left.
