Guide to completing Xantippe's Abyss in Total Annihilation. Learn how to locate and capture the Big Bertha, manage resources, and defeat the Annihilator.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The Big Bertha gun is situated approximately halfway up the right side of the map. It is guarded by two laser towers and a single construction Kbot. On Hard difficulty, the laser towers may vary, and additional Kbots might be present. The laser towers are positioned far enough from the Bertha to be safely destroyed using the D-gun. On Hard difficulty, there are two Bertha cannons available for capture.
  2. 2
The southern three-quarters of the map are free of enemy opposition, allowing you to gather as many metal deposits as possible.
  3. 3
Construct numerous power generators, as each shot from the Bertha consumes a significant amount of power (over 1000 units).
  4. 4
Build an aircraft plant and a few Finks. Conduct suicide runs along the northern section of the map to locate the Annihilator.
  5. 5
Once the Annihilator is spotted, pause the game and target it with the Big Bertha. A direct hit will result in winning the mission.
  6. 6
The path across the Abyss is located at the far right. Consider placing Gaat Guns and Pulverisers in strategic spots to defend against any approaching enemies. On Easy difficulty, this is not a major concern, but on Hard, a substantial column of heavy armor will attack, making these defenses potentially necessary. A large contingent of rocket and artillery Kbots proved effective against this assault.
Tips
  • On Hard difficulty, be aware of the two Bertha cannons that can be captured.
  • Prioritize building power generators due to the high energy cost of the Bertha's shots.
  • Use Finks for scouting the northern area to find the Annihilator.
  • Defend the right-side path across the Abyss, especially on Hard difficulty, as it is a common approach for enemy heavy armor.
