Duke Nukem 3D shareware is Episode 1 - L.A. Meltdown, with some bugs potentially unfixed. Cheat codes DNTODD and DNUNLOCK are disabled.

The Duke Nukem 3D shareware version is the same as Episode 1 - L.A. Meltdown. It is an earlier version, so some bugs present may not have been fixed in the registered version.

You can use all cheat codes in the shareware version except for DNTODD and DNUNLOCK. If you use cheat codes that grant weapons, your available arsenal will be limited to the Mighty Foot, Pistol, Shotgun, Chaingun, RPG, and Pipebombs.

For multiplayer, the Void Zone and Faces of Death levels were included.

Nag screens appear when quitting the game and after beating the final level.
