Guide to obtaining the Yellow Key and reaching the exit in Duke Nukem 3D's Planning Room and Launch Room areas, including enemy encounters and switch puzzles.
Walkthrough
- 1In the Red Key room, use the Teleport Pad to reach the Planning Room.
- 2In the Planning Room, you will be attacked by four Enforcers, a Commander, and an Alien Drone.
- 3Collect the Yellow Key from a counter. A Shotgun and three Small Medikits are also available in a compartment.
- 4Use the switch on the wall to disable the Forcefield leading to the Command Room.
- 5Another switch on a counter unlocks window-like panels on the wall, leading back to the UFO room.
- 6A ramp leads to a Forcefield with a disabling switch beside it, which returns you to the Hub area.
- 7Return to the UFO room and proceed to the Yellow Key door. Be aware that new Alien Drones may have spawned in the UFO room.
- 8Note the code on the panel beside the Yellow Key in the Planning Room.
- 9The Yellow Key door leads to an elevator that descends to the Launch Room. Exercise extreme caution as a Battlelord is present.
- 10After defeating the Battlelord, go to the switch panel in the middle of the area.
- 11The switch panel has four positions:
- 12Position 1: No effect.
- 13Position 2: Opens the left switch panel.
- 14Position 3: Opens the right switch panel.
- 15Position 4: Opens panels on the far left and right, showing your progress.
- 16If you haven't found the codes in the Command Room, use the following:
- 17Right set of switches (facing the monitor with the Duke Burger): O O X X
- 18Left set of switches: X X O X
- 19Once both codes are entered correctly, levers will appear in front of the "Access Code Required" signs. Pull these levers to destroy the rockets.
- 20After both rockets are destroyed, a wall will rise behind you (to your right when facing the elevator), revealing the Exit Symbol.
- 21The command code can be found in the Computer Room and Planning Room areas.
Tips
- Be prepared for new Alien Drones in the UFO room upon your return.
- Remember to find the command codes in the Command Room and Planning Room to operate the switches in the Launch Room.
