Follow this guide to complete 'The Ride' mission in Cyberpunk 2077. Learn about Regina's call, meeting Dexter DeShawn, and recovering the Flathead prototype.

Alright, so you've just finished up whatever you were doing, and now Regina's gonna hit you up on your phone. She's got this whole thing about cyberpsychos running wild in Night City. Basically, people who've gone too far with cybernetics and are now super dangerous. She wants you to take 'em down, but here's the kicker: try to do it without killing them. If you can bring 'em in alive, they can get treated and studied, which kicks off a side job called [Psycho Killer]. It's a big one, with seventeen cyberpsychos to track down, so don't worry about that just yet.

Once Regina hangs up, hang a right, then take a left at the next street. Just follow that yellow quest marker, and you'll find Dexter DeShawn's car waiting for you. Hop in, and Dex will lay out the plan. It's a two-parter: meet Evelyn Parker and then snatch a stolen prototype robot called 'Flathead' from the Maelstrom gang. You can pick whatever dialogue options you like here. After Dex finishes explaining, he'll drop you off. Jackie will call right after, and you'll fill him in on everything Dex just told you. That's pretty much the end of The Ride. It sets you up for two new main jobs: [The Information] and [The Pickup]. Which one you say you're gonna do first just changes which one is tracked, so no pressure there.

Now, even though you've got these two big jobs lined up, this is actually a perfect time to just explore Night City. Wanna check out the sights? Go for it. Feel like picking a fight with some random street thugs or gangers? You do you. You can also tackle those 'Suspected Organized Crime Activity' and 'Assault in Progress' events, or dive into Gigs and Side Jobs. Doing any of this will earn you XP for your character and skills, plus Street Cred. Oh, and don't forget the loot and eddies!

So, do as much or as little of that as you want. When you're ready to get back to the main story, just pick one of those two jobs. [The Information] is pretty chill since there's no combat, so it's a good way to rack up some easy XP. [The Pickup] is a bit more involved. Honestly, there's no real reason to favor one over the other at this point.
