The Intelligence attribute in cyberpunk 2077 determines your netrunning proficiency. Every level of Intelligence increases Cyberdeck RAM capacity by 4%, quickhack damage by 0.5%, and quickhack duration by 1%. Your Intelligence attribute also determines the maximum level your Breach Protocol and Quickhacking skills can reach.

While Technical Ability covers a character’s affinity towards mechanical devices, Intelligence determines your character’s competence in the digital world. Intelligence is described as potentially the most useful attribute in the game, functioning as more of an all-or-nothing investment compared to Body and Reflexes. Intelligence governs two skills: Breach Protocol, which covers infiltrating networks and installing daemons (long-term, network-wide debuffs), and Quickhacking, which covers the deployment of quickhacks, akin to spells in cyberpunk 2077. The difference in power between a character with no Intelligence investment and one with max Intelligence, a legendary operating system, and legendary quickhacks is significant.

Cyberware with Intelligence requirements also offer substantial benefits. These include RAM Managers (regenerate RAM when RAM falls to a certain threshold), Ex-Disks (increase max RAM), Visual Cortex Supports (increases Crit Damage), and Limbic System Enhancements (increases Crit Chance). Legendary Crit Chance/Crit Damage cyberware provide huge boosts (+25% and +45%, respectively). Intelligence synergizes well with Reflexes, enhancing critical headshots and making stealth easier with quickhacks like Reboot Optics and Ping.
