Learn how the Cool attribute in cyberpunk 2077 affects Crit Damage, Resistance, stealth damage, and enemy detection. Maxes Stealth and Cold Blood skills.

Each level of Cool provides the following benefits:

  • Increase Crit Damage by 2%.
  • Increase all Resistance by 1%.
  • Increase stealth damage by 10%.
  • Reduce the speed at which enemies detect you by 0.5%.
  • Increase monowire damage by 3.

Your Cool attribute also determines the maximum level your Stealth and Cold Blood skills can reach.

The Stealth skill tree offers perks for various stealth parameters, including stealth damage, detection time, movement speed, poison damage, and knife throwing. Many useful perks, such as Crit Chance while sneaking, damage with silenced weapons while sneaking, headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill) damage from outside of combat, and damage to human enemies, are found early in the tree. A good Overture revolver with sufficient headshot damage, Crit Chance, and Crit Damage can often one-shot foes, especially when combined with a silencer and a potent quickhacking attack for a stealth build.

The Cold Blood skill is more fundamentally flawed, as its benefits are largely tied to activating a buff by killing enemies. The attribute points required for Cold Blood, and the perk point investment needed to stack and extend the buff, offer dubious value.

Cyberware that requires Cool to install includes Shock-N-Awe (chance to release an electroshock when damaged), Catarsesist (increases Resistances), and Pain Editor (flat damage reduction), along with lower-quality mods that alter debuff effects. While not terrible, this cyberware may not be appealing if the associated perks do not interest you.

Tips
  • While Cool affects sneaking competence and offers perks that can ease gameplay, many of these perks don't require significant investment. With proper equipment, your protagonist can perform well in stealth regardless of your Cool attribute investment.
  • The short-term stacking benefits of Cold Blood, which require significant attribute and perk point expenditure, are of questionable value compared to investments in other attribute trees.
