Over the Edge

Follow this Cyberpunk 2077 guide to find David's apartment, trigger the 'Over the Edge' side job, and get David's Jacket from El Capitan.

Alright, let's get you set up to start the 'Over the Edge' side job in Cyberpunk 2077 and snag David's Jacket. First things first, you need to find David's apartment, which is in Megabuilding H4, located in the Arroyo district of Santo Domingo. Head to the Megabuilding H4 fast travel point. Once you arrive, look up and to your right – that massive black-and-yellow building is hard to miss, even with the 'NO ENTRY' sign. Don't let that deter you!

Follow the sidewalk towards Megabuilding H4. When some shops block your way, hang a left, then take a right when you hit the street. Cross the street at the crosswalk, and you'll be right in front of the building. Keep going straight, sticking to the left side of the building. When the building ends, turn right, go past some big yellow pipes, and then take another right into an alley. Look for some neon green graffiti on the wall – that's your sign you're in the right spot.

At the very end of this alley, search the trash can. You'll find a Braindance. Pop it in, and you'll get to watch an Edgerunners trailer. Once that's done, the 'Over the Edge' Side Job officially kicks off.

After you've had a bit of a text chat with El Capitan and Falco, you'll be able to grab David's Jacket.

So, after the trailer finishes, you'll get a prompt to text Muamar “El Capitan” Reyes. Go ahead and do that – hold to bring up your contacts, then press / to open messages and choose “About David Martinez”. The text exchange is pretty much on rails, and honestly, whatever you reply doesn't change the outcome. El Capitan will agree to look into things, but you'll need to wait about a day for him to get back to you.

To speed things up, head back to one of your apartments and sleep for 24 hours. Just chilling around doesn't seem to work, so a good night's sleep is your best bet. After you wake up, hang tight until you get a response from Falco. Reply however you feel, but at the end of the chat, Falco will mention he left something for you with El Capitan.

Now, make your way to the Dam Viewpoint fast travel point. From there, head south and west along the road until you find El Capitan. You'll find a crate on the ledge right behind him. Open it up, and inside you'll find David's Jacket. Grabbing it will wrap up this Side Job.
