Learn how to start and complete Vehicle Theft Contracts in Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty. Discover random objectives, tips for shaking pursuers, and how to earn eddies.
Vehicle Theft Contracts are a series of repeatable side jobs in Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty expansion, initiated by Mr. Hands and managed by El Capitan. These contracts become available after progressing through the main story of Phantom Liberty until Dogtown can be freely explored, typically around the time you need to find Reed.
You'll receive a call from Mr. Hands, informing you that you can now freely enter and exit Dogtown. Shortly after, you may notice a blue steering wheel icon on your minimap, marked as a "Mysterious Signal." These signals appear randomly, often near the stadium or the Pyramid (Heavy Hearts club) on the eastern edge of Dogtown. Upon reaching the location, you'll find a random vehicle guarded by random gangers. The objective is to stealthily steal the vehicle, preferably after neutralizing the guards. Once you've stolen the vehicle, El Capitan will contact you, revealing he was tracking it and offering eddies for its delivery to one of his chop shops. This initiates the side job Push It to the Limit.
The first contract, Push It to the Limit, serves as a tutorial. The vehicle and chop shop locations are random. During the drive to the chop shop, you may encounter random objectives, the most common being hostile vehicles chasing you. You can deal with pursuers by shooting them, destroying their vehicles, or using quickhacks on the driver. You cannot enter a chop shop until all hostile pursuers are lost. After delivering the vehicle, you'll speak with El Capitan, who explains the repeatable nature of these contracts: find a marked vehicle, steal it, and deliver it for rewards.
Vehicle Theft Contracts - Just Another Story Walkthrough
After completing Push It to the Limit, more vehicle contracts will appear randomly on the map, marked by the same steering wheel icon. These can now appear outside of Dogtown as well. The specifics of each contract—the vehicle's location, the vehicle itself, the guarding enemies, and the post-theft objectives—are randomized. However, the core task remains delivering the stolen vehicle to a chop shop.
Random Objectives:
- Moving Target: Some vehicles are found driving and must be stopped, usually by killing the driver, before they can be hijacked.
- Scan and Hijack: In this less common scenario, you'll find a unique scanning vehicle. Enter this vehicle, and it will locate the target vehicle. Drive to the target vehicle and stay close enough to fill a "Proximity Meter." Once filled, you can hijack the target vehicle.
Throughout these contracts, you'll often need to fend off hostile vehicles during the delivery process.
