Obtain Both Bicycles

So, you've probably noticed by now that when you first get a bike in Mauville City, you have to choose between the Mach Bike and the Acro Bike, right? It's a tough choice because they do totally different things, and some parts of Hoenn are only accessible with one or the other. This was the same way back in the original Ruby and Sapphire games.

But what about those tricky spots, like the Safari Zone, where you actually *need* both bikes to get certain TMs? Don't worry, Game Freak wouldn't leave you hanging! You can actually get both bikes in the game, but it takes a bit of post-game adventuring.

Here's the deal: you need to show three specific people one of the bikes. You won't be able to reach everyone until after you've beaten the Elite Four, so this is definitely a post-game task. Once you've shown them the right bike, you can head back to Rydel's shop and swap for the other one.

Here's who you need to find:

1. Hex Maniac: Head to the desert area on the northern part of Route 111. You'll need to show her the Mach Bike.
2. Bird Keeper: This guy is on the eastern side of Route 119. Getting to him requires both the Surf and Waterfall HMs, and you'll need to have the Acro Bike with you to show him.
3. Triathlete: You'll find this person in the Battle Resort area. They're happy to see any bike, so just show them whichever one you have.

After you've met these requirements, zip back to Rydel's Cycles in Mauville City. Talk to Rydel, and he'll let you have the other bike! Now you can explore every nook and cranny of Hoenn.
