Walkthrough
- 1Welcome to the Pokémon League, the pinnacle of Pokémon Training for most in-game Pokémon Trainers.
- 2Beyond these doors, you will fight five Trainers in consecutive order: the Elite Four and the Pokémon League Champion.
- 3These Trainers will all specialize in specific types: Dark, Ghost, Ice, Dragon, and Steel.
- 4General item recommendations: 5-10 Full Heals, 15-30 Hyper Potions, and 10-20 Revives.
- 5General party recommendations: a good Fighting Pokémon, a good Ghost or Dark Pokémon, a good Fire Pokémon, a good Dragon Pokémon, and two flexible slots (ideally a starter or Lati, and your Primal Legendary Pokémon).
- 6Specific Pokémon type advantages: Dark is weak to Fighting, Fairy, and Bug. Ghost is weak to Dark and Ghost. Ice is weak to Fire, Steel, Rock, and Fighting. Dragon is weak to Dragon and Fairy. Steel is weak to Fire, Fighting, and Ground.
- 7Recommended Pokémon for each Elite Four member:
- 8Dark: Blaziken, Gardevoir
- 9Ghost: Gardevoir with Shadow Ball
- 10Ice: Blaziken, Pikachu with Brick Break and Meteor Mash
- 11Dragon: Latios, Gardevoir
- 12Steel: Blaziken, Pikachu
- 13Recommended party composition:
- 14A good Fighting Pokémon (e.g. Breloom, Hariyama, Medicham)
- 15A good Ghost or Dark Pokémon (e.g. Banette with Banettite, Absol with Absolite)
- 16A good Fire Pokémon (e.g. Blaziken, Arcanine, Ninetales, Camerupt with Cameruptite)
- 17A good Dragon Pokémon (e.g. Latios, Latias, Salamence, Hydreigon, Haxorus)
- 18Anything else you want: this slot ideally would be a starter or Lati
- 19Anything else you want: this slot ideally would house your Primal Legendary Pokémon
- 20Level recommendation: Level 58+ is suitable to be on par with the Champion.
- 21When you feel ready, go through the doors for the final challenge.
Tips
- Pick your Pokémon carefully as you can’t change them after accepting the challenge.
- Absol is more or less the only good Dark Pokémon available at this point for the Ghost type matchup.
- Mawile and Azumarill in particular work even better than Lati for the Dragon type matchup.
- Fighting will be in trouble for a few specific instances against the Steel type.
- Latios is much more powerful than Gardevoir for the Dragon type matchup.
