Alright, so you've hit a point in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire where the weather's going to get a bit wild! For a good while, all your above-ground battles are gonna feel different because of these new weather effects. It's not just for show, either – these changes can seriously shake things up in battles, especially between here and Sootopolis City, and even in wild encounters within Sootopolis itself.

Here's the kicker: you can't just cancel this out with your own moves or abilities. If the game decides it's sunny in Omega Ruby, your Pokémon's Drizzle ability won't do a thing to make it rain. Same goes for trying to force a Sandstorm or Hail; they just won't happen. Even if you bring out one of the legendary Primal Pokémon, especially the one from the opposite version of your game, it likely won't change the weather because it's tied to the story. We're not 100% sure on this, but mechanically, it seems like it's locked in. The same might apply to Mega Rayquaza and its Strong Winds ability – it might not override these plot-driven weather events.

But don't worry, there's a way to get around the effects! If your Pokémon has the ability Cloud Nine, you'll be able to ignore whatever weird weather the game throws at you. So, keep an eye on your team's abilities; Cloud Nine can be a real lifesaver here!
