Learn how to complete the 'Never Forget' side story in Octopath Traveler. Discover the two solutions, including using Allure/Guide or Steal/Purchase, and find Lorie's final resting place.

Hey there! If you're looking to wrap up some side stories in Octopath Traveler, you might stumble upon a quest called 'Never Forget' in Cobbleston. It's a pretty straightforward one, but there are actually two ways to see it through to the end. Let's break 'em down!

When and Where: You can start this quest after finishing Olberic's Chapter 1. Head to Cobbleston, and look for an NPC near the northeastern exit. This person is searching for a girl named Lorie, who used to live in town.

The Goal: Your main task is to find out what happened to Lorie. Both solutions will involve a trip to Noblecourt, a town you'll likely recognize from other story chapters.

Solution 1: Allure/Guide the Melancholy Youth

If you're going with this option, you'll need to use either Cyrus's 'Allure' or Olberic's 'Guide' ability on the 'Melancholy Youth' you find in Cobbleston. Make sure you do this before you head off to Noblecourt.

Getting to Noblecourt: If you haven't been there before, Noblecourt is located north of Atlasdam. You'll want to travel through North Atlasdam Flats, then Western Noblecourt Flats, and finally head east to reach the town.

Finishing Up: Once you're in Noblecourt, make your way to the area with the gravestones. Find the gravestone marked with Lorie's name and examine it. Boom, quest complete!

Solution 2: Steal/Purchase Lorie's Diary

For this path, you don't need to bring the youth along. You'll still need to visit Noblecourt, though.

Finding the Item: In Noblecourt, look for an NPC dressed in blue, standing not too far from the entrance. This is the 'Affable Antiquarian'. You'll need either Therion's 'Steal' ability or Tressa's 'Purchase' ability to get Lorie's Diary from him.

Returning to Cobbleston: Once you've got the diary, head back to the 'Melancholy Youth' in Cobbleston. Hand over the diary, and you'll wrap up the quest.

Reward:

  • 9,000 Leaves
  • Sharp Nut (M)

Both ways get you the same rewards, so pick the one that best suits your party's abilities!
