City of Gold

Hey there! Ready to dive into another side story? This one, the 'City of Gold: Of,' is a bit of a scavenger hunt across a few towns. You can technically start it pretty early, right after Cyrus's first chapter, but honestly, I'd recommend waiting until you've cleared all the Chapter 3s. Why? Because the places you need to visit are actually Chapter 4 areas, so you'll be better equipped to handle them then.

To kick things off, head to the library in Atlasdam and chat with the Passionate Reader. She's heard whispers of a legendary city of gold but needs more info. You've got two main paths to get this info, and you can choose either one, or even do both!

Path 1: The Scholarly Youth

Your first lead takes you to Marsalim. Once you're in town, make your way to the top right area. You're looking for a Scholarly Youth hanging out there. Once you find him, use either Inquire (if you have Cyrus) or Scrutinize (if you have Olberic) to get the 'City of Gold' information he possesses. After you've got the intel, just head back to the Passionate Reader in Atlasdam to wrap up this part of the quest.

Path 2: The Best-Selling Author

For the second solution, you'll need either Ophilia or Primrose in your active party. If you don't have one of them, swap them in! Next, travel to Grandport. Once you're there, exit the town and head to the West Grandport Coast. Venture towards the western edge of this area, and you should spot a lone NPC standing near a ledge. This is the Best-Selling Author you're looking for.

Now, you'll need to use either Guide (if you have Ophilia) or Allure (if you have Primrose) to get him to follow you. Once he's tagging along, escort him all the way back to the Passionate Reader in Atlasdam. Speak with her while the author is with you, and that'll complete the quest!

Rewards

No matter which path you take (or if you do both!), you'll be rewarded with 9,000 Leaves and an Alluring Ribbon. Not too shabby for a bit of detective work!
