Guide to Octopath Traveler's 'The Gravekeeper's Grief' side story in Noblecourt. Learn how to get the Codger-friendly Bow or win a duel to help the gravekeeper.
Hey there! Let's tackle the 'The Gravekeeper's Grief' side story in Octopath Traveler. It's a pretty straightforward one, located in the graveyard area of East Noblecourt. You'll find a gravekeeper who's having a bit of trouble with a troublemaker, and well, he's not as quick on his feet as he used to be.
- 1First off, you'll need to head to the western side of Noblecourt. Look for a specific NPC named Accomplished Graybeard, who's chilling in the southeastern corner of the area. He's got an item that'll sort out the gravekeeper's problem.
- 2Your task is to either Steal or Purchase the Codger-friendly Bow from this Graybeard.
- 3Once you've got the bow, bring it back to the gravekeeper in East Noblecourt to wrap up the quest.
Alternate Solution:
- If you'd rather not go the item route, there's another way! Head to Western Noblecourt Flats. You'll see an NPC named Impresario standing by a tent – don't worry about him.
- Instead, go south from the Impresario. You'll bump into another NPC, an Awkward Boy.
- Now, you'll need to use either H'aanit or Olberic for this. Use their Challenge or Provoke ability on the boy. He's only a strength of three and weak to spears, so it's a pretty easy duel.
- Defeating him in this duel will also complete the quest!
Extra Scene:
- If you choose the second route (the duel), you can head back to the gravekeeper afterwards. Chat with him for a little bonus scene. It's a nice touch!
- Completing this side story will net you 4,500 Leaves and the Gravekeeper’s Mark. This is available during Chapter 2-3.
