The Diarist's Desire

Alright, so you're looking to wrap up all those side stories in Octopath Traveler, huh? Let's tackle 'The Diarist's Desire.' This one's pretty straightforward, but you'll need to have finished Tressa's Chapter 4 first. Once that's done, make your way to Grandport.

You'll find Ing the Diarist hanging out in the northern part of the Markets area. He's feeling a bit uninspired, thinking his diary might not have anything interesting left to record. Your job is to help him out by finding three specific items. To snag these, you'll need either Tressa's 'Steal' ability or Therion's 'Steal' or 'Purchase' ability.

First up, you need to head to Bolderfall. Look for the Proud Collector; he's chilling just north of the inn, in front of a tree. He's got the Astonishing Object you need. Grab it from him.

Next, set your sights on Wellspring. Once you arrive, find the Satisfied Merchant. They're hanging out by the pond in the middle of town, specifically on the southwestern edge. They've got the Incredible Item for you.

For the final piece, travel to Duskbarrow. Just to the left of the shops, you'll spot a Smirking Townsperson. They're holding onto the Marvelous Memento. Make sure you get it!

Once you've collected all three items – the Astonishing Object, the Incredible Item, and the Marvelous Memento – head back to Ing in Grandport. Hand them over, and you'll complete 'The Diarist's Desire.' As a reward, you'll get 6,500 Leaves and the Alluring Ribbon. Nice!
