The Best Kind of Quest

Follow this Monster Hunter: World walkthrough to escort researchers through the Wildspire Waste, distract a Rathian, and survive a Barroth encounter. Learn strategies to succeed.

Alright, let's get this quest rolling! You'll pick up 'The Best Kind of Quest: Of' from the Quest Board. After a quick intro to the Wildspire Waste, you'll be escorting The Handler and some researchers pushing a cart. Grab some sling ammo as you go – you'll need it!

Your first objective is to follow them up to AREA 5. You'll hear a big beastie roaring in the distance, which is your cue to step in. Head into the cavern ahead. You'll spot a Rathian, which looks a lot like a Rathalos. Now, here's the important part: you're NOT here to fight it. Your job is to keep it busy while the cart gets through. Use your Slinger to shoot rocks near the Rathian to draw its attention. If you don't attack it directly, it shouldn't become hostile right away. However, once you aggro it with the Slinger, it'll probably get angry and come for you. If that happens, just evade it until the cart is clear, then meet up with your companions outside.

After that little dance with the Rathian, keep following the wagon to AREA 8, where the researchers want to do their thing. Along the way, you'll see some Apceros looking really spooked. When something that big and armored is scared, it's never a good sign. The wagon will eventually stop near the spire, but if you've been paying attention, you might have noticed some mysterious monster tracks. Yeah, you're definitely not alone out here. Head towards the molten pile (looks like Zorah Magdaros left it) and the researchers will get a bit too excited. That is, until a Barroth shows up to remind them where they are!
