The First Wyverian Expedition: First Wyverian S Challenge

Alright, so you've finished up some of your initial quests and now you're ready to tackle something a bit more challenging. The First Wyverian wants to see you prove your worth, and that means heading out on an expedition to the Ancient Forest. Your goal here is to find mysterious tracks. Keep an eye out for these; the more you find, the higher your Scoutfly Level will get, which will eventually let you track down whatever's making them. Once you've found enough tracks to get a clear read on your target, follow them!

These tracks will lead you all the way to AREA 16, which is basically the Rathian nest way up high in the Ancient Forest. Get ready, because this is where you'll come face-to-face with another flying beast: the Rathalos. Now, the Rathian is tough, but the Rathalos is on a whole other level – way more dangerous, so be prepared for a serious fight. You'll barely escape this encounter, but hey, you'll complete your objective. Unfortunately, the First Wyverian isn't exactly impressed with your performance and won't help you out until you prove you're truly capable. This means your next two assignments are going to be taking down the Rathalos and the Diablos. Looks like you've got your hands full!

Before you dive into these big fights, it's a really good idea to take care of any optional quests you might have lingering. You're going to need every bit of resource you can get your hands on for these monsters. Make sure you stock up on Demondrug and Armorskin items to give yourself those crucial buffs. Also, grab a Max Potion; it'll max out your health bar and offers much quicker healing than other options. Seriously, aim for a defense score of over 150. Anything less, and you're basically asking to get knocked out in just three or four solid hits, even with a full health bar.

For the Rathalos fight, try to craft some gear that gives you the Poison Resistance skill. This will save you a lot of hassle with Antidotes during the battle, especially with everything else going on like its fire breath and physical attacks. Having some fire resistance wouldn't hurt either, though it's less critical. Just make sure your fire resistance isn't in the negative, and you should be okay. As for the Diablos, there's not a whole lot you can do to completely negate its physical attacks, so stacking defense is super important here. Elementally, the Rathalos is weak to Dragon attacks, while the Diablos is best fought with an Ice elemental weapon or one that inflicts Paralysis. Prepare yourself accordingly, hunter!
