Think of it like trading in those extra decorations you don't really need for Melding Points. You use those points, along with some Research Points, to create the decorations you actually want. Her selection is a bit small at first, but it'll grow as you progress.

Next, we're heading over to the Armory clerk for Armory R&D: Weatherizing. She's working on a new hunter tool and needs a few specific items to finish it up. To get this done, you'll need to hand over a Paolumu Pelt+, a Paolumu Wing, and 1,500 Research Points. Knock this out, and you'll be rewarded with the awesome Iceproof Mantle!
