Giant Crown Master

Investigations are the primary method for encountering monsters with variable sizes that can reach the thresholds for golden crowns. Assignments and optional quests typically do not feature monsters large enough for crowns.

Certain event quests are highly beneficial for crown hunting. The event quest 'Egg Lovers United' consistently features a giant Kulu-Ya-Ku.

Other event quests, one for each locale, feature native monsters with lower health and a higher chance of varying into golden crown sizes. These quests require killing all listed monsters, and runs can take 20-30 minutes, making them best suited for when many crowns are needed.

The event quests, their locales, and the monsters available are:

• Deep Green Blue (Ancient Forest): Great Jagras, Pukei-Pukei, Tobi-Kadachi, Anjanath, Rathalos

Wildspire Bolero (Wildspire Waste): Kulu-Ya-Ku, Barroth, Jyuratodus, Rathian, Diablos

Coral Waltz (Coral Highlands): Tzitzi-Ya-Ku, Paolumu, Pink Rathian, Legiana

Effluvial Opera (Rotten Vale): Great Girros, Radobaan, Odogaron, Bazelgeuse

Rock N’ Roll Recess (Elder’s Recess): Dodogama, Uragaan, Lavasioth, Azure Rathalos

Be aware that event quests rotate and may not always be available. Hunting a wide variety of monsters can also be challenging without a well-equipped hunter.

Elder Dragons and Black Diablos are not included in the 'Giant Crown Master' achievement. Zorah Magdaros and Xeno'Jiiva are also excluded as their sizes do not vary.

You need twenty-eight golden Giant Crowns to unlock the 'Giant Crown Master' achievement.
