Into the Bowels of the Vale

Guide your hunter through the treacherous Rotten Vale in Monster Hunter: World. Learn how to navigate toxic mists, find shortcuts, and face the Odogaron.

Alright, ready to head back into the Rotten Vale? If you've wrapped up what you needed to do before, chat with the Third Fleet Captain back at the Research Base. With that Legiana out of the way, the skies should be clear, so no more aerial annoyances. After a bit of a chat, the quest Into the Bowels of the Vale will kick off.

Quest Info:

You'll start off in AREA 11, right near AREA 9 and AREA 8. You'll be dealing with that nasty toxic mist, but hey, at least you can walk through the upper parts of the Rotten Vale now. Just be ready to suffer a bit from the toxin! If you want a quick exit later, there's a shortcut cave in AREA 10 that'll zip you back up to AREA 2. Handy, right?

From where you begin, jump down some ledges and head southeast, downhill into AREA 12. Keep an eye out for a cavern that looks like it has fresh water. Remember, this is the Rotten Vale, so don't expect anything pure! You'll soon see what I mean when you encounter the caustic fluid. As you push on, look for signs that Zorah Magdaros has been through. Eventually, you'll reach AREA 14. There's another one of those magmatic stone pustules here. After a bit of banter between you and The Handler, you're going to meet a new monster: the Odogaron. And yep, it's hostile. Luckily, that huntress who helped you out in the Coral Highlands shows up to distract it, giving you a moment.
