Phases:

1. Stage 1: Teostra fights without a fire shroud, using physical and basic fire attacks.
2. Stage 2: Teostra is wreathed in flames, using more powerful attacks.
3. Stage 3: Teostra leaves trails of fire on the ground and uses more aggressive, powerful attacks, including a circle of spark-clusters that explode.

Strategy:

• Preparation: Equip gear with at least 20 Fire Resistance to prevent the burning status effect. Bring Water or Ice elemental weapons. Poison is the best ailment to inflict. Avoid Fire elemental attacks. Consider Elderseal weapons, but their effectiveness is debatable. Grab Chillshrooms and drink a Cool Drink before entering its lair in AREA 13 of the Elder's Recess.
• Offense: Teostra's primary mode of attack is fire. It uses short-range fire arcs, long-range fire lines, over-the-shoulder bites, and tail sweeps. It also employs various charge attacks, including pouncing, diving, and ground-rending charges.
• Aura Build-up: As the fight progresses, Teostra builds a fire aura, indicated by roars. In later stages, it leaves damaging fire trails and uses explosive spark-cluster attacks.
• Super Nova: When fully powered, Teostra flies up and charges a massive area-of-effect blast. Flee from this attack or use a well-timed Flash Pod to knock it out of the sky. This attack resets its fire aura.
• Other Attacks: Be wary of its rarely used attack that causes sparks to accumulate and explode near you, especially if you are stunned or recovering.
• Combat Tips: Only sharpen your weapon when Teostra leaves an area or if you have Speed Sharpening. Move constantly if you need to heal or eat. Flash Pods are effective for grounding Teostra, especially during its Super Nova charge.
