Alright, let's talk about the Odogaron, a Fanged Wyvern you'll encounter in Monster Hunter: World. It looks a bit like the Tobi-Kadachi with its lean, energetic build, but don't let that fool you – this guy's got some nasty tricks up its sleeve, the main one being the 'bleeding' status effect. If you get hit with bleeding, you'll take damage whenever you move. The only way to stop it is to crouch down and wait it out, or ideally, use your Health Booster hunter tool. It's a real pain, so be ready!

Unlike the Tobi-Kadachi, the Odogaron isn't as agile and can't glide long distances. It also doesn't have that crazy spinning tail slam. However, it's still super bouncy and attacks with its mouth, pounces, bites, charges, and a tail sweep. Because it's so fast and the Rotten Vale is pretty cramped, using slow, ranged weapons against it can be a real challenge. You'll want to be up close and personal for this fight.

When the Odogaron gets angry, it becomes even more of a problem, especially if it's enraged in its lair. It'll attack faster, leap more often, and can even bounce off walls, making it super hard to track and hit. This is your cue to use traps or items to stun, slow, or otherwise mess with the beast. If that doesn't work, just back off, let it tire itself out with its tantrum, and then go in for the punish when it's exhausted.

You'll typically find the Odogaron in the lower parts of the Rotten Vale, hanging out in AREAS 6, 8, 9, 10, and 11. It might wander up to AREA 3 sometimes. Its lair is in AREA 14. If it gets hurt, it'll try to eat a Legiana corpse if one is around. You can break its head, legs, and tail, with the head and front paws being especially vulnerable. You can even sever its tail!

After you defeat or capture the Odogaron, you'll get some cutscenes. First, you'll chat about Zorah Magdaros, then you'll be told to find the First Wyverians. Back in Astera, the Commander will tell you the same thing but add that the First Wyverians are in the Ancient Forest. Sounds like an expedition is in order!

Once you're back in Astera, a bunch of new optional quests, bounties, and deliveries will pop up. First, talk to the Field Team Leader. They'll give you the Vitality Mantle, which is super useful for negating damage for a short time after you use it. It's great for when a monster is really going off.

Next, find the Smart Biologist. He wants you to capture another Odogaron, which kicks off the optional quest Man’s Best Fiend. Get it? Fiend instead of friend? Pretty clever!

Head over to the Canteen and chat with the Meowscular Chef. He's looking for ingredients, which leads to the quest The Meat of the Matter. Yep, you guessed it, you'll probably run into an Odogaron during that one too.

Finally, swing by the Workshop and talk to the Armory clerk. They'll mention new armor is in stock, though you might have already been able to craft some of it, like the Alloy armor.

With all that done, you can either head to the Ancient Forest to find those First Wyverians or go back to the Rotten Vale to tackle those new optional quests you just picked up. It's up to you where you want to go next!
