Navigate the treacherous Southern Shiverpeaks in Guild Wars 2. This guide covers Ice Caves of Sorrow and Iron Mines of Moladune missions, including objectives, bonuses, and enemy strategies.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
    Ice Caves of Sorrow [mis19]
    • Objective: Navigate the caves, avoid Mursaat and Jade enemies with their damaging Spectral Agony attack (100 damage 5 times + 10 arrows of health degeneration). Avoid or time movements through catapult fire (150+ damage). Destroy two Dwarven boats. Use a catapult to destroy White Mantle catapults. Clear the area near the northern door, blow it open with a keg of powder. If not doing the bonus, exit southeast, work south and west, blow open Evennia's cell. After the movie, blow open the door west of the cell. Wait for Mursaat patrols to move south, they will be killed by Dwarven catapults. Keep Evennia from catapult fire. Kill remaining enemies and escort Evennia to the Dwarven ship.
  2. 2
Bonus Objective: After blowing open the first door, head southwest and exit. Blow up a door guarded by Mursaat and Jades. Enter, face White Mantle, and find Rornak Stonesledge. Blow open his cell and talk to him. Backtrack to the main mission path. When reaching Evennia's cell, ignore it. Grab a keg of explosives, blow open the door east of the cell. Enter the cave area. To the south, 12 Mursaat Elementalist s will approach. Retreat into the small cave you just exited. The Mursaat will pass by, destroying non-White Mantle enemies. Go to the area they emerged from and talk to Hamdor Grandaxe to complete the bonus.
  3. 3
    Iron Mines of Moladune [mis20]
    • Objective: Seek the Seer to get armor infused against Spectral Agony. After the first path of enemies, take the lower path (river/frozen river) instead of the shorter, Mursaat-filled upper path. Enemies include Trolls, Hill Giants, Azure Shadows, Blessed Griffins, Stone Summit, and White Mantle. Dodge catapult fire. Reach the mountain top and fight Azure Drakes, then the Seer. Seek the monsters she speaks of east in a large cave. Kill the boss, Eidolon, to obtain a spectral essence. Return the essence to the Seer for armor infusion, reducing Spectral Agony damage to 9 (5 times) and 3 arrows of health degeneration. Proceed northeast to reach Markis and Jade Armors (statues that transform).
  4. 4
Note: A map is recommended for navigation due to frequent turns.
Tips
  • Wearing a Signet of Capture is recommended in the Southern Shiverpeaks due to bosses with elite skills for each class.
  • Common enemies in the Southern Shiverpeaks include White Mantle, Mursaat, Stone Summit, and Avicara Tengu.
  • Enemies in the Southern Shiverpeaks tend to group together, making dodging patrols difficult.
  • The Southern Shiverpeaks allow for eight-player parties, which can make them easier than the Crystal Desert.
