Complete guide for Part 92 of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, covering Tattoo Parlor side-missions and Checkpoint Races like East Side Escapade and Midtown Mayhem.

All scoring in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is based on money earned. Medals are awarded for surviving levels: Bronze for the first, Silver for four, and Gold for all six.

LRT21. Tattoo Parlor

The Tattoo Parlor is a side-mission where you must tattoo as many people as possible within a time limit. This is required for 100% Completion. There are two locations:

  • Chinatown (Algonquin): Located on the east side of a narrow block, 175 feet east of Xun [TXH-D44].
  • Cerveza Heights (Broker): Situated on the opposite side of the Cerveza Heights Safehouse, near where the mission "Recruitment Drive" was completed.

On the Nintendo DS, patterns vary in difficulty, with simple straight lines being the easiest and the Dragon Head and Butterfly patterns being the hardest. Take your time with complex patterns. On the PSP, complete Analog Stick motions as quickly as possible. While there's a time limit, it's generous, but speed and accuracy are crucial. One mistake in inking will end the mission. Ten successful completions earn a Bronze Medal, fifteen earn Silver, and twenty earn Gold, which ends the mission. You receive $5 for each tattoo, multiplied by successful completions.

LRT22. Checkpoint Races and Time Trials

This section covers various races and time trials available at this stage of the game, categorized into single course, multiple course, and PSP Exclusive. A Bronze Medal in every race and course is required for 100% Completion.

A. Single Course Checkpoint Races

There are seven single-course checkpoint races. The goal is to collect checkpoints as quickly as possible. Checkpoints lack arrows, so the first few attempts will involve learning the course layout.

East Side Escapade

  • Neighborhood: East Holland (Algonquin).
  • Map: (C-2).
  • Directions: The Banshee is found roadside, 85 feet southeast of Jorge [EHD-D10].
  • Times: Bronze - 1:00 and under; Silver - 0:55 and under; Gold - 0:50 and under.
  • Notes: Heavy traffic can slow you down. The Basketball Court area and the ramp jump in Middle Park at the end are the most challenging parts.

Midtown Mayhem

  • Neighborhood: The Meat Quarter (Algonquin).
  • Map: (B-4).
  • Directions: Go to The Meat Quarter Gas Station. Across the main road, southeast of your position, is a parking area. Head south into this area to find the Sultan.
  • Times: Bronze - 1:05 and under; Silver - 1:00 and under; Gold - 0:55 and under.
  • Notes: This course features many narrow alleys, making it difficult. A Hot Dog Stand near the beginning of an alley can cause significant vehicle damage. You can gain time on main roads. The end requires circling the cathedral for remaining checkpoints; avoid hitting the surrounding trees to achieve Gold.

Loose Exchange

  • Neighborhood: Castle Gardens (Algonquin).
  • Map: (C-5).
  • Directions: The Calvacade FXT is located about 110 feet south of Camera [CSD-SC47].
  • Times: Bronze - 1:00 and under; Silver - 0:55 and under; Gold - 0:50 and under.
  • Notes: Despite driving a slow vehicle, Gold is achievable once the course is learned. The area near Heli Tours is the most difficult part, with traffic impacting your ability to get Gold.

Bohan Snake

  • Neighborhood: Industrial (Bohan).
  • Map: (E-1).
