Master the shooting ranges in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Learn strategies for Pistol, SMG, Shotgun, Grenades, and Sniper Rifle to achieve Gold Medals.

This section covers the various shooting ranges available in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, detailing how to achieve Gold Medals for each.

Pistol Range: Go down the course and shoot the Red Targets as quickly as possible. Near the tail end of the course is the Yellow Target; get it quickly for the best chance at a Gold Medal.

SMG Range: This range is not difficult to complete or get Gold in. You don't have to get the Yellow Target if you manage to get through the range quickly enough and avoid shooting the Blue Targets.

Shotgun Range: This is the last of the walk through Ranges and is a little bit more difficult. The Shotguns used by the Red Targets can quickly deplete your armor. The Double Armor upgrade is highly recommended. It will take a couple of tries to get Gold once you get the hang of the course and Target placement.

Grenades Range: Throw Grenades at the Red and Yellow Targets. This is relatively easy to pass and get Gold, though it may be slightly harder on the PSP version due to the analog stick's stiffness.

Sniper Rifle Range: This is not a hard Range to get Bronze in on either the NDS or PSP versions. On the Nintendo DS Version, getting Gold is significantly harder due to the D-Pad's lack of precision. The Analog Nub on 3DS and 2DS units makes aiming easier.

Sniper Rifle - Gold Medal Strategy (NDS):

  1. Assemble the weapon quickly: Aim for under twenty seconds for a bonus. The Touch Screen can be finicky, causing parts to misplace or not register, wasting time.
  2. Shoot Red Targets: Aim to shoot as many Red Targets as possible. Targets disappear if not destroyed quickly.
  3. Prioritize Yellow Targets: There are two Yellow Targets worth 1,000 points each. They are always in the same spot and should be prioritized.
  4. Target Order: Targets appear one at a time from one side to the other. Shoot them in order of appearance, but prioritize Yellow Targets first.
  5. Utilize Lulls: Use the brief lulls between Waves to position your reticle where the next target will appear and shoot it the moment it spawns.
  6. Practice and Patience: Getting Gold requires quick assembly (under ten seconds is best), shooting about 90% of Red Targets, completing the Range quickly, and hitting both Yellow Targets.

Sniper Rifle - Gold Medal Strategy (PSP): The PSP version is easier due to the lack of a finicky touch screen and the Analog Stick's precision aiming. Assembly can be consistently done in about nine seconds.

Completing the Gun Club should result in 85 Medals (NDS) or 97 Medals (PSP), finishing the last side task in the game.
