Pride Main Quest Walkthrough

Start with Melee Combos: First things first, you need to land two four-hit melee combos. Just mash the [Square] button four times. Don't stress about hitting him or him hitting you back; just get those combos in. Easy peasy!

Master the Fire Spell: Next, it's time for some magic. Press the [Circle] button to cast Fire. There's no mana to worry about, so you can spam it! The Lord Commander will block most of your shots, so fire one off, wait for him to lower his guard, and then blast him again. Keep this up until the tutorial says you're done.

Perfect Your Dodging: Now, the Lord Commander is going to start attacking. Your main defense here is dodging with the [X] button. His attacks are pretty obvious, so just watch him and dodge out of the way. If you time your dodge *just* before an attack lands, you'll pull off a !Precision Dodge. It's not strictly necessary for this tutorial, but it's good practice and looks cool!

Utilize Phoenix Shift: Time to get mobile! Use Phoenix Shift by pressing the [Circle] button to dash towards an enemy. You can follow this up with a melee or magic attack. Do this three times, either with a [Circle] + [Square] or [Circle] + [Circle] combo, to move on.

Heal Up with Potions: Clive took a beating, so you need to show you know how to heal. Your potions are on the D-pad. Press [Up] for a Potion and [Down] for a High Potion. Use one to top off your health.

Defeat the Lord Commander: This is the real test! He'll come at you with everything he's got. Use everything you've learned: dodge his attacks, go for those !Precision Dodges, and retaliate. You'll notice a new gauge – the Will Gauge. Keep hitting him, and when it's empty, he'll be staggered. This is your chance to deal massive damage! You'll be prompted to use the Rising Flames Eikonic Ability with [Square] + [Circle]. Remember, Eikonic Abilities are super powerful but have cooldowns, so use them wisely, especially when an enemy is staggered.
