Defeat Imperials in Eastpool in final fantasy xvi. Learn Ifrit's new abilities: Will-o'-the-Wykes, Limit Break, and Ignition.
Walkthrough
- 1After the events in the catacombs under Phoenix Gate, you gain access to three new Eikonic Abilities tied to Ifrit: Will-o'-the-Wykes, Limit Break, and Ignition.
- 2Navigate to the Abilities tab in the main menu to view these abilities.
- 3Will-o'-the-Wykes surrounds Clive with fire orbs that absorb two attacks (four if upgraded) and deals damage/stagger to nearby enemies.
- 4Ignition is a multi-hit charge attack effective against groups of enemies, requiring sustained contact against larger foes.
- 5Limit Break is a passive ability that consumes the Limit Gauge to buff Clive, doubling spells, increasing potency of Charged Magic, Magic Burst, and Precision Shot by 10%, increasing Eikonic Ability potency by 10%, slowly restoring HP, increasing Defense by 10%, and preventing stagger when taking damage.
- 6The Limit Gauge fills as you deal or take damage; upgrading yields a second gauge, and mastering yields a third.
- 7Best used when an enemy is staggered, near death, or caught in a combo.
- 8Invest in these skills as you see fit.
- 9Follow the linear path from the Dim obelisk towards Eastpool, heading southeast.
- 10On the way, you will find two item pickups: a High Potion and a Potion.
- 11Upon reaching Eastpool, grab a third Potion and open the gate to find Imperial forces.
- 12Fight through the Imperial forces, starting with Imperial Legionnaires, joined by Imperial Astrologers and Imperial War Wyrms as you progress.
- 13Ranged opponents will increase, and Imperial Captains will appear, who are sturdier and guard against frontal attacks. Use Burning Blade to break their guard.
- 14After defeating the lesser foes, an Imperial Champion will appear.
How to Defeat the Imperial Champion:
- The Imperial Champion wields a massive maul and can perform two swings and an overhead slam. These attacks are well-telegraphed and can be dodged.
- The Imperial Champion is accompanied by two Imperial Astrologers.
- The primary threat is the Imperial Champion's Divine Hammer attack, which causes pillars of light to erupt from the ground after a warm-up animation. These pillars have minor tracking; run sideways to avoid them.
- After defeating the Imperial Champion, you will be treated to cutscenes.
- Travel back to The Hideaway to begin the next quest,
