When Do Side Quests Unlock in FF16

There are 76 Side Quests that can be found whilst exploring Valisthea. You won’t gain access to them until you reach the Hideaway, which takes place during the 16th Main Quest, Hide, Hideaway. You should reach this point in about 3 hours if you’re starting the game from the beginning, but for those continuing on from the demo, then you should get there in about an hour. Upon reaching the Hideaway, you’ll gain access to the first two side quests: Make Do and Mend and Food for Thought.

Unfortunately, you still won’t start unlocking side quests more frequently until you start reaching the more open areas in the game, such as The Imperial Province of Rosaria, which you should reach in a couple more hours of gameplay. From this point onwards, you’ll want to regularly open up your map and check for any green markers to see if any Side Quests are available.

Are Side Quests Missable in Final Fantasy 16?

You may be really enjoying the main story and don’t want to do the side quests when they become available, so you may be wondering if any side quests are missable and will require another playthrough for the plat. Unfortunately, once you’ve completed The Crystal’s Curse Main Quest, you’ll be locked out of doing any side quests that were available before it, so you’ll want to make sure you complete any available quests before progressing through the mission. What Rewards Do You Get For Completing Side Quests in FF16?

As mentioned above, there are a lot of Side Quests, so you may be wondering if they are worth doing. The good news is they are, as they reward you with a variety of things, such as Gil, EXP, Ability Points, and Crafting Materials which you can use to craft the Gotterdammerung Sword, which is the strongest weapon in the game. Additionally, you’ll need to complete the majority of the side quests in the game, as it works towards increasing your renown, which is required to claim all of your Patron of Whispers Rewards.
