Complete the Buried Memories main quest in final fantasy xvi, including the Hall of Ancestors and the Iron Giant boss fight.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Enter The Hall of Ancestors by following the path down into the basement from Phoenix Gate.
  2. 2
Proceed into the center of the first large room. A cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) will play, and the platform will descend.
  3. 3
Defeat the newly introduced Fallen Bugs.
  4. 4
Upon reaching the bottom, defeat Fallen Hunters and Defense Nodes.
  5. 5
Proceed through the door and across a bridge to face a Fallen Guardian. Dodge its lunging and spinning attacks.
  6. 6
Loot the chest near the door for The Favour of Wind (Gouge).
  7. 7
Collect the Potion in the next hallway.
  8. 8
In the following room, defeat the Bombs before they enlarge and explode.
  9. 9
Proceed through the door, collect the Potion, and enter the room with an elevator.
  10. 10
Walk to the center of the elevator platform to activate it.
  11. 11
At the top, loot the chest containing 1,200 Gil before proceeding through the next door.
  12. 12
Defeat the Fallen Guardian, taking out the Defense Nodes and Fallen Hunters that spawn partway through the fight. Use the same strategy as before for the Guardian.
  13. 13
Proceed through the door to face a mix of Fallen enemies and Bombs. Loot the chest containing The Will of Wind (Rook’s Gambit).
  14. 14
Head to the next room to face the mini-boss, the Iron Giant.
  15. 15
Defeat the Iron Giant by dodging its lunges, spins, and direct slashes, watching for its warm-up animations. Avoid its shockwaves and ground stomps. When staggered, focus on its stagger bar to prevent it from using Atomic Ray.
  16. 16
After defeating the Iron Giant, proceed into the next room. Loot the High Potion and the chest containing The Favor of Wind (Wicked Wheel).
  17. 17
Head down to the platform for another cutscene.
  18. 18
Engage the Lich, watching for its teleports and scythe swings.
  19. 19
After defeating the Lich, two new rooms will open. In one, defeat Spectors; in the other, defeat Wraiths.
  20. 20
Activate the switch in both rooms to raise the bridge.
  21. 21
Cross the bridge into the room with the mural. A long cutscene will play, followed by a battle against the Infernal Eikon and the shadow version of Clive.
  22. 22
During this boss battle, you will unlock Limit Break.
  23. 23
After the Eikon fight, you will proceed to the next main quest, The Meaning of Life.
Tips
  • The Fallen Guardian has a spin attack that hits from all angles; be prepared to dodge.
  • Bombs will enlarge and explode when they have about a third of their health remaining. Prioritize eliminating them quickly.

  • When the Iron Giant is staggered, focus on depleting its stagger meter again to prevent it from using Atomic Ray.
  • The Lich teleports frequently, so be aware of its position when it attacks.
  • The Favour of Wind (Gouge)
  • Potion (x2)
  • 1,200 Gil
  • The Will of Wind (Rook’s Gambit)
  • High Potion
