Learn about throwable objects like Trophies, garbage cans, and vases in Duke Nukem Forever. Deal 100 damage per hit.

First Appearance: Campaign: The Duke Cave, DLC (downloadable content — extra missions or items released after launch): In Security

Damage: 100 (All difficulties)

Maximum Ammo Carried: 1

Advantages:

  • Kills or sets up enemies for an execution with one hit.
  • Sometimes the attack will carry on to an enemy behind your target.
  • Saves on ammunition.

Drawbacks:

  • Easy to miss a target when it is strafing.
  • Requires time to pick up an object.
  • Some objects break after use (Vases and sometimes Bricks).

Most useful against: Berserk Pigcops, Assault Troopers and Assault Trooper Captains.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Trophies, garbage cans, and vases can all be picked up and thrown at enemies.
  2. 2
The biggest advantage with using thrown objects is the ability to kill or execute weaker targets with only one hit.
  3. 3
Their ability to do the same damage across all difficulties makes this especially useful while playing DiG (Duke's Inferno Difficulty).
  4. 4
These items are more useful in the earlier stages of the original campaign (while Duke is in the Lady Killer), where you first learn the advantages of throwing objects at enemies.
  5. 5
Berserk Pigcops easily fall prey to thrown objects, since they approach you in a straight line. The one thing to watch out for is when they suddenly leap at you.
  6. 6
Thrown objects are effective against Assault Commanders, but they require a considerable amount of hits to take down.
Tips
  • Thrown objects are useless against Octabrains, since they will catch them and throw them back at you.
